Karl Muller a tough Ex-Mercenary is tasked with recovering a huge cache of stolen uncut Diamonds from Namibia's largest Diamond mine for their dubious owners. Suspecting that the haul has been transferred to a trawler he commandeers the super yacht Chameleon as she is on a delivery voyage from Cape Town to Brazil for her new owner. What started as a simple delivery job turns into a nightmare for the young crew as they are forced to take on unwanted guests and equipment. Muller declares a one-man war on powerful forces competing to possess their priceless cargo to further their own ambitions. When it turns out that the CIA have a hand in this, things turn nasty and Muller and his small team find they are no match for the forces levelled against them but unless he can find a way to stop them the world could be ruled by a New Order that would make Hitler's third Reich look like a holiday camp.

Kindle opens the read at Chapter one, but I recommend you read the authors preface & Synopsis at the very beginning for an insight to this books development - a labor of love over many years of first hand experience incorporated into a story with fact, fiction, history, a smattering of technology, sci-fi and adventure. Having been to many of the places in the story gave it relevance to me and made it that much more enjoyable. What I really appreciated was the authors foresight in providing a Character list and photos of some of the places visited in the story - some of the historical significance of some of the locations and descriptions. The short coming on my Kindle PaperWhite is the devices inability to easily jump ahead and back and the grayscale is not the best photo viewer. This applies to all books for the PaperWhite but you can look at the photos on your computer with the Kindle App for PC or IOS for color viewing. There are a few minor typo or conversion errors, but I buy and read a book for its story content not it's grammatical perfection - I can go back to a college English textbook if that's what my concern is. The book could almost be a couple of shorter books, that seems to be the trend with authors these days, but because of that it gives that much more value to the give away price. I would have paid many times more than I did and appreciate it even more after finishing it. The story would make a great movie. The worst part is, it ended.Product details

Al Noteman tells a rollicking and intriguing tale in his first novel, appropriately entitled Stolen Time. He develops his characters skillfully and plausibly and likewise brings together the elements of a diverse and complex plot adroitly and compellingly and I found that I picked the book up with anticipation each time I resumed reading and was absorbed until the end.
